Welcome!

Here you will find information about how and when to visit the nationalpark, opening hours of the naturum (visitor centre), the restaurant and more. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

How to get here

Fulufjället is located in north-western Dalarna next to the Norwegian border about 25 km west of Särna. For more information click on the link below:

Clothing and equipment

You can hike in ordinary training shoes on all the trails. If you are going out on trails other than the Njupeskär trail, rubber boots or waterproof hiking boots are recommended.

In some periods of summer there are lots of mosquitoes, so remember to bring mosquito repellent.

Remember to always have a rain jacket and extra clothes! The weather on the mountain is unpredictable.

If you have any questions about our trails, want to hike for a day or more - come to us at the naturum visitor centre and talk with our knowledgeable staff. Outside of opening hours, you may also contact us by phone or email. Upon request, we'll send our hiking map to you, so that you may plan your trip from the comfort of your home (provided you have an address in Sweden).

Folder

The folder about Fulufjället National Parks - From Old Growth Forests to Mountains - A Limitless Experience covers the whole mountain on both sides of the border and has a common map. The folder is made to fit in with the new Swedish national park profile and is a part of the interregional collaboration project Gränsöverskridande besöksförvaltning för Fulufjällets nationalparker.

Weather

To make sure that you have clothing and equipment adapted to the weather, don't forget to check the weather before visiting.
